High Performance Computing

FPGAs are boldly entering the sector of High Performance Computing.

Giants like Microsoft or Amazon are equipping their data centers with FPGA-based modules for acceleration of their computations.

Dynamic growth of the amount of resources in single devices, higher frequencies and probably what’s most important: introduction of advanced development environments, allows to implement complex computing components in programmable logic.

Together with the Department of Field Theory we are developing a platform for accelerating Monte-Carlo simulations, widely used in almost all science fields, mainly engineering, physics and medicine.
